IRCNoCo has joined Sunrise Community Health

EVANS, CO, March 28, 2023: The Sunrise Community Health Board of Directors and the Immigrant and Refugee Center of Northern Colorado (IRCNoCo) Board of Directors are excited to announce that IRCNoCo has joined Sunrise effective the end of February 2023.

IRCNoCo has a rich history of empowering refugees and immigrants by connecting communities and advocating for successful integration into our Northern Colorado community. Each year, IRCNoCo serves over 2,000 clients with ESL (English as a Second Language) classes, citizenship classes, navigation services, and workforce development support.

Sunrise provides affordable access to quality care for all, serving over 41,000 people annually from 12 clinics based in Evans, Greeley, and Loveland. Our primary medical, dental, and behavioral health care model includes services such as vision, pharmacy, lab, x-ray, care management, health education, and workforce development. Notably, nearly 100% of Sunrise patients struggle with low incomes, and English is not the primary language for 44% of our patients.

Equity is at the heart of Sunrise and IRCNoCo’s missions; both recognize the importance of patient and community empowerment, health education, workforce development, and advocacy on behalf of those we serve. Furthermore, many of IRCNoCo’s clients call Sunrise their healthcare home.

“Sunrise and IRCNoCo have a long history of collaboration. By aligning our programming formally, we can better meet the needs of the people we jointly serve. I am excited to see this collaboration elevate services at both organizations,” shared Mitzi Moran, Sunrise’s Chief Executive Officer.

John Haefeli, IRCNoCo Board President shared, “After in depth conversations with Sunrise Community Health, the IRC Board of Directors are elated about this evolution. We know our staff will have more opportunities to serve our clients. The future holds great things for all involved. Thanks to Sunrise for making us part of their incredible organization.”

Moran added, “Sunrise is committed to continuing and amplifying the IRCNoCo vision and mission. We are very grateful to IRCNoCo’s supporters; to you – and to IRCNoCo clients - this change should be seamless. Together, IRCNoCo and Sunrise will continue striving to make Northern Colorado a more equitable home – for all who live here.”
