Our History

Sunrise significant milestones:

1973 Sunrise began as a federally qualified health center serving farm workers in Weld County. Originally based in Gill, the first comprehensive Sunrise clinic opened in northeast Greeley in 1980.
1997Loveland Community Health Center opened (in partnership with McKee Medical Center and Foundation).
2001Weld County Prenatal Clinic opened (in partnership with Weld County Public Health). Began managing and expanding the Monfort Children's Clinic (in partnership with North Colorado Medical Center Foundation).
2003Sunrise Family Dental opened, expanding historic dental program.
2004Began using Mobile Health Van to deliver services to migrant, homeless, and school-based health clinics in Weld County.
2006Kids Care Clinic opened at Centennial Elementary School (in partnership with Weld County School District 6).
2007Monfort Family Clinic opened, supported by Banner Health, Monfort Family Foundation, North Colorado Medical Center and Foundation, Caring for Colorado, The Colorado Health Foundation, and the City of Evans.
2010Community Family Medicine Volunteer Corp began (in partnership with UNC School of Nursing).
Sunrise North Range Clinic opened (in partnership with North Range Behavioral Health).
Expanded ACE/physician training tracks (in partnership with North Colorado Family Medicine).
2011Sunrise Touchstone Clinic opened (Touchstone Health Partners). Since has been renamed to Sunrise SummitStone (SummitStone Health Partners)
2014Loveland Community Health Center opened (supported by McKee Medical Center Foundation, Banner Health, The Colorado Health Foundation, Caring For Colorado, and the City of Loveland).
Sunrise Adelante Clinic set to open December 2014, supported by Greeley Urban Renewal Authority, North Colorado Medical Center Foundation, and funding through the Affordable Care Act.
